INFANTERIE
This 180 sqm period apartment, located in a 1920s Art Deco building in Bayonne, underwent a meticulous and comprehensive renovation.
The interior architecture work has refined circulation, enhanced spatial volumes, amplified natural light, and infused, through materials, bespoke furniture, and even the smallest details, the distinctive Art Deco heritage of the building.
On the exterior, the harmony of the façade has been preserved through the replacement of the original joinery with traditional French-style wooden windows and French doors, fitted with brushed brass cremone bolts and hinges in keeping with the Art Deco aesthetic.
Inside, the original parquet floors have been preserved and restored, moldings repaired, and walls leveled to eliminate any imperfections. The entrance has been adorned with wallpaper specially designed for the space, the door upholstered in green shagreen, and a bespoke dark rosewood cabinet completes the character of this welcoming area.
A wide corridor leads successively to a guest bedroom featuring brushed brass bedside lighting and a fitted dressing room. This is followed by a large reception living room furnished with generous sofas, coffee tables, and carefully selected lighting; a study enhanced by a bespoke varnished oak bookcase with integrated backlighting; a dining room centered around a sculptural pink marble table with designer chairs; and a fully equipped custom kitchen.
The master suite includes a bedroom with a bespoke dressing room, an adjoining marble-clad bathroom, and a separate dressing-laundry area.
Particular attention has been paid to the bespoke furniture, which, beyond its functionality, highlights noble materials such as rosewood, burr oak, brass, natural oak, stainless steel, and decorative wall coverings.
This project reflects a bespoke approach to interior architecture where, behind a deliberately understated visual simplicity, lies all the functionality of a modern interior.
